ROSEBURG FOREST PRODUCTS ANNOUNCES MORE LAYOFFS

Officials with Roseburg Forest Products have announced more layoffs at the Dillard Plywood Plant.
A company release issued Friday said the move was “due to continued unfavorable conditions in the North American plywood market”.
Corporate Communications Director Rebecca Taylor said nearly all affected employees received immediate job offers at other Roseburg facilities. Taylor said the layoffs affect approximately 30 Dillard Plywood employees, 97% of whom received job offers at Roseburg’s other plants in Dillard and Riddle. Taylor said the remaining workers were invited to interview for roles at other Roseburg facilities next Monday, November 18th.
Taylor said “Roseburg knows this is difficult news for our team members and their families”. She said the company has pledged to work with all those affected, with the goal of placing them as soon as possible.
The release said an earlier round of layoffs occurred at the Dillard Plywood plant in August, also due to unfavorable conditions in the domestic plywood market. It said that nearly every affected employee who wished to continue working for Roseburg has been placed at another company facility since the earlier announcement.
Operations at other Roseburg facilities, including plywood plants in Riddle and Coquille, will continue as usual.
