Another unusual entry from the Roseburg Police log:
On Saturday morning at about 2:20 a.m. an officer contacted a 38-year man in the 400 block of Northeast Stephens. The report said the man had lit several piles of leaves on fire, both in downtown and on Southeast Stephens. The man told the officer he was helping to ward off evil spirits.
He was cited and released on the charge of reckless burning.
