SECOND NIGHT OF ROCK SCALING WORK ALONG FREEWAY

November 6, 2019 3:30 a.m.
A second night of rock scaling work along Interstate Five means more delays for motorists in the Roseburg area Wednesday evening.
Dan Latham of the Oregon Department of Transportation said rolling slowdowns will be used in both directions of the freeway with traffic delayed for up to 20 minutes between 7:00 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Latham said in the southbound direction, pilot cars will lead I-5 traffic on a low-speed approach from the Winchester area through Roseburg. Flaggers will hold traffic at each southbound on-ramp from the Del Rio/Winchester interchange to McLain Avenue.
Northbound rolling slowdowns will begin north of Myrtle Creek, with flaggers holding on-ramp traffic from Boomer Hill Road to McLain Avenue.
