LEAF COLLECTION PROGRAM BEGINNING

November 4, 2019 8:50 a.m.
The City of Roseburg Public Works Department is beginning this year’s leaf collection program Monday.
A release said pickup starts in the Laurelwood area and moves in a clockwise direction. That route will be repeated until the end of the pickup period in early January. It will take two to four weeks to make one complete cycle of the city limits depending on the quantity of leaves. Residents can check www.cityofroseburg.org for updates or call 492-6730.
The release said City crews follow a systematic route to ensure an effective cost-controlled program. Leaves are not to be placed in the street gutters, ditches, bike lanes, too close to parked vehicles, or on top of catch basins. That means residents could be responsible for any hazards they create for others by the placement of their leaves. People that place leaves in the City’s right-of-way are responsible to keep drainage structures clear of leaves during rainstorms until leaves can be picked up.
City residents who would like to have one or more loads of leaves delivered to their property should call the Public Works Department.
Crews will not pick up anything else except leaves that have been raked and piled up.
