Nearly 90 grams of suspected heroin was found, methamphetamine was located, and two people have been jailed by the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team.
Lieutenant Rick McArthur said on October 16th, Parole and Probation officers and Roseburg Police arrested 32-year old Spencer Hopkins at his residence in the 2100 block of Chinaberry Avenue in Roseburg after allegedly finding a small amount of methamphetamine in his recreational vehicle. McArthur said officers also reportedly found a small safe in the vehicle that belonged to 43-year old Shannon Wedekind. McArthur said officers were suspicious of the contents of the safe so it was seized.
Hopkins was lodged in the Douglas County Jail charged with unlawful possession of meth and for a parole violation.

Roseburg Police K-9 Trapper was allowed to sniff the safe and alerted to the presence of narcotics. DINT detectives later obtained a warrant to open the safe and search the contents for evidence of controlled substance crimes. McArthur said detectives located approximately 89 grams of suspected heroin along with drug paraphernalia.
On Wednesday of this week, DINT detectives located Wedekind and arrested her in relation to the case. While being booked into jail, more heroin was allegedly found in the woman’s possession. She was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of the drug and one count of delivery of it. After arraignment, Wedekind is being held on $50,00 bail.
