New envelopes for making property tax payments in Douglas County are in the mail.
A release from the Douglas County Tax Office said the contractor that prints and mails the statements, inadvertently printed and mailed the statements with the incorrect payment remittance envelope.
Taxpayers who received green tax statements will receive a duplicate copy of their tax statement and a notice from State Printing & Distribution regarding the error, along with the correct payment remit envelope. The new and correct return payment envelope is white with a yellow strip above the return address.
The release said the concern was that the first envelope sent does not completely show the remittance address for the Douglas County Tax Collector and the mailing address barcode does not match the remittance address.
Taxpayers can wait for the new envelope or can still make their payment in-person at the courthouse, online, or by using the drop box in front of the courthouse. Residents can also use their own envelope to mail the statement and payment to the Douglas County Tax Collector, PO Box 8403, Medford, OR 97501-0803.
Tax payments are due by November 15th. The Douglas County Tax Collection Office is open Monday’s through Friday’s from 8:00 am. to 5:00 p.m. Call 440-4253 for more information.
