A Yoncalla woman was hurt in a two-vehicle crash Friday night in the Rice Hill area.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 8:15 p.m. an El Cajon, California man had stopped his pickup on John Long Road, waiting to pull into a gas station. The vehicle was rear ended by a car driven by an 18-year-old woman. The woman told deputies she had seen the pickup, looked down to put money in her pocket, and then looked up but realized that it was too late to avoid hitting the other vehicle.
The woman was taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment of a broken leg. She was listed in serious condition at last check according to a hospital spokesperson.
