SAN JOSE WOMAN JAILED IN STOLEN VEHICLE CASE

A San Jose, California woman was jailed in a stolen vehicle case on Friday afternoon.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 2:00 p.m. Oregon State Police broadcast an “attempt to locate” regarding a stolen vehicle heading southbound on Interstate Five from milepost 97, about a mile south of Canyonville.
The deputy waited six miles further south and when the car passed him, he attempted to stop it. The report said the driver accelerated away. Josephine County deputies were able to spike strip the car about fifteen miles later and the driver stopped shortly after running over the spikes.
22-year old Taliva Maima was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and for attempting to elude police. She was detained on $100,000 bail.
