STATE FIRE MARSHAL MOBILIZING TEAMS TO HELP CALIFORNIA

October 27, 2019 1:45 p.m.
The Oregon Office of State Fire Marshal mobilized 15 strike teams to assist with the response to the California wildfires on Sunday.
Using its emergency mobilization plan and following a request made by the Emergency Management Assistance Compact, the OSFM activated its Agency Operations Center and send the teams with equipment and personnel to join firefighting efforts.
The teams comprised of nearly 300 personnel, were sent from 14 counties, including Lane, Josephine and Jackson.
Oregon’s structural firefighters mobilized by OSFM were last sent to California to respond to the Camp Fire in November of 2018.
