GLIDE COMMUNITY DISASTER PREPAREDNESS MEETING TUESDAY NIGHT

The Glide Rural Fire Protection District and the Glide Community Club are hosting a Glide Community Disaster Preparedness Meeting Tuesday night.
A release from the groups said the evening will provide an opportunity to help people get better prepared for the next major weather event, electrical power or communications outage, water/flood or fuel shortage or other similar events.
A panel of officials who have responsibility for disaster response will provide important information about their respective role and responsibilities. Handout material will be available for people to take home so they can begin preparations. Panel members include:
*Douglas County Emergency Manager Wayne Stinson
*Glide Rural Fire District Chief Ted Damewood
*Douglas County Community Emergency Response Team member Gail Young
*American Red Cross Emergency Services volunteer Donda King
Others will be speaking as well.
Organizers said the intent is to increase awareness, knowledge and sources for securing products for home emergencies. The evening is meant to be the first event in a process which will be ongoing.
The meeting will be held at the Glide Community Center from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
