The Community Cancer Center is bringing the resources of the Oregon Health and Science University to Roseburg.
A release from CCC said a Professional Services Agreement has been signed between the local organization and OHSU’s Department of Radiation Oncology to provide radiation oncology physician services beginning on January 1st of 2020.
CCC’s oncologists Drs. Randy Moore and Silvia Gosline will join the OHSU Department of Radiation Oncology staff while continuing their practice at CCC. OHSU is actively recruiting a third physician who will become CCC’s new Medical Director of Radiation Oncology. The new Medical Director will reside in Roseburg and be an active member of the community, according to the release.
Jerry Jaboin, M.D. Ph.D., associate professor and executive vice chair of the OHSU Department of Radiation Medicine said OHSU is “celebrating this opportunity to work with the outstanding team at Roseburg’s Community Cancer Center”. He said “we can’t wait to get started”.
Tammy Turner, Executive Director of the Community Cancer Center said by improving the relationship with OHSU, “the quality of care we have given over the years is assured to be enhanced in many ways”. She said especially important to CCC is the common perspective the two organizations share on the importance of compassionate care teamed with an advanced oncology. She said CCC is “excited about the benefits it will provide to our community”.
