The Umpqua Valley Winegrowers Association will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Greatest of the Grape event on Saturday March 21st.
A release from the UVWG said it was the first event of its kind, where local fine wine is available, paired with food prepared by local restaurants and caterers. It is now considered one of the premier wine tasting events in Oregon.
The event will be held at Douglas Hall at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. The theme will be “Puttin’ on the Ritz”. Organizers said that means an evening of sparkle, glitter and festive times with live music, dancing, wine and food pairings. Awards will be given for best wine, food, and wine and food pairings.
VIP entrance is at 6:00 p.m. with general admission opening at 7:00 p.m. Early bird special ticket prices are offered through the end of January. VIP tickets will be $115 per person with general admission tickets priced at $80. Both ticket prices will increase by $10 starting February 1st.
