Two transients were cited for possessing a stolen vehicle on Saturday morning.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 12:30 a.m. a deputy was checking on a vehicle sitting in the 800 block of John Long Road. The vehicle was flagged as “missing/likely stolen” out of Salem. A 35-year old male from Tenmile and a 27-year old female from Roseburg were observed walking toward the vehicle and unlocking it. They were both detained. The report said the man initially lied about his identity. Both people said the vehicle was borrowed but they were overdue in getting it back to its owner.
The man was detained on a parole violation while the woman was released.
