As part of World Food Week events in Douglas County, Blue Zones Project Umpqua is offering a tour of the newest community gardens in southeast Roseburg on Thursday.
Tours at the Umpqua Dairy Garden at 1450 Southeast Mill will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Those taking a tour can learn about how to sign up for a garden plot of their own.
A fall gardening workshop will be held from 6:00 p.m.to 6:30 p.m. at the Roseburg Senior Center on Southeast Stephens. Halie Cousineau, School Garden Coordinator with AmeriCorps, will lead the event. It will cover:
*What to grow in a home garden or community garden plot this fall and winter.
*How to start an indoor container garden.
*How to sign up for a community garden plot.
