Mercy Foundation’s Learning Child committee will have its SuperHero Socktober drive on Saturday.
A release from the foundation said the committee believes every child should have the things they need for each school year. That includes socks and undergarments. Not having the necessary items can be embarrassing and can prevent them from fully participating in the learning experience, according to the release.
The event will be held at Fred Meyer from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Donations of new socks and undergarments, or cash, will be accepted. All donations will be distributed locally. Any funds raised will be used to help provide Douglas County children with socks and undergarments.
