MEETING ON ELLIOT STATE FOREST IN COOS BAY

October 15, 2019 9:40 a.m.
The Oregon Department of State Lands will host a public meeting in Coos Bay next week to share information and answer questions about a possible proposal by Oregon State University to establish a research forest on the Elliot State Forest.
A release from the department said staff from OSU will attend the meeting to help answer questions about the project. The meeting is informational only and is not a hearing for public testimony.
The release said in December of 2018, the State Land Board directed the department to work collaboratively with OSU as it develops a plan for transforming the Elliot into a world-class research forest. The Land Board anticipates hearing the OSU proposal at its regular meeting on December 18th in Salem.
The Coos Bay meeting will be Wednesday October 23rd from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Coos History Museum.
The Elliot State Forest is in Coos and Douglas counties.
