Battered Persons Advocacy is preparing for the 9th Annual Gala & Dance Competition on February 22nd of next year.
Sponsored by CHI Mercy Health, the fundraiser will be held at Seven Feathers Casino Resort.
Executive Director Melanie Prummer said that each year community members with all levels of dance experience, or no experience, join a team to learn a performance with one of BPA’s coaches. She said the event began with 6 couples performing Salsa for 150 guests. Last year over 40 dancers competed for over 900 audience members.
Prummer said the fundraising goal for this year has been set at $70,000, with every dollar raised matched by grants.
Registration to dance is going on through the end of October, but space is limited. Call 673-7867.
