Tuesday is the deadline for residents of the Tenmile Rural Fire Protection District and the City of Reedsport, to be registered so that they can vote in the upcoming special election.
Information from Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis said ballots for measures in those two districts will be sent out starting on Thursday.
A local option levy in the fire district would impose a tax of 75 cents per $1,000 of assessed value for five years beginning in the 2020/2021 fiscal year to hire a full time Fire Chief/Paramedic.
In Reedsport an amendment to the City Charter is proposed which would change the charter to remove the restriction on utility rate adjustments not exceeding 3 percent annually.
Ballots must be returned by Tuesday November 5th at 8:00 p.m.
