VETERANS SERVICE OFFICE CLOSED FOR TRAINING

October 14, 2019 4:10 a.m.
The Douglas County Veterans Service Office is closed through Friday while staff attends their annual training.
That means the office is closed to all walk-in visitors and appointments. A release from the office said the training will help them to develop the skills needed to help military veterans obtain their earned benefits. The training is one of several required courses held annually to improve and educate staff on how to advocate for veterans, learn more about what VA programs and benefits are available and how to understand and access the complex VA benefits system.
The Veterans Service Office will resume their normal schedule next week. Veteran walk-in days are offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays each week from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
