NORTH DOUGLAS DISTRICT TO HOLD TOWN HALLS

October 14, 2019 4:05 a.m.
The North Douglas School District in Drain has two town hall meetings this week regarding Oregon’s Student Success Act.
Superintendent Terry Bennet said the Act provides a historic opportunity to reinvest in both students and schools. Bennet said the district needs input from patrons on how to best invest the new funding to help increase academic achievement, reduce disparities among student groups, and meet student’s behavioral or mental health needs.
Bennet said all voices are needed in the conversation. The town halls are Tuesday and Wednesday night in the multi-purpose room of the high school. They will begin at 6:30 p.m. each evening. Childcare will be available starting at 6:00 p.m.
