One driver was hurt and the other driver was cited, in a two-vehicle accident on Tuesday morning at the intersection of Highway 42 and Grant Smith Road near Green.
Information from the Oregon State Police said at about 5:50 p.m. the wreck occurred when the driver of an SUV failed to stop for a red light. The report said the first SUV hit a second SUV that was making a left hand turn on a green light. The second driver, a 54-year old Winston woman was taken to Mercy Medical Center where she was treated and released.
Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage. The second SUV had to be towed from the scene. The driver that caused the accident, a 34-year old Winston man, was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
There was some lane blockage for a time while the accident scene was cleaned up.
