ODF TO PROVIDE UPDATE ON HABITAT CONSERVATION PLAN

The Oregon Department of Forestry will have a public meeting next Tuesday in Portland to provide an update on the Western Oregon State Forests Habitat Conservation Plan process.
An ODF release said the agency is hosting the meeting to engage with the public on developing a possible Habitat Conservation Plan for ODF-managed land west of the Cascade Mountains. The meeting will focus on:
*A final draft of the Western Oregon HCP mission, vision and goals.
*Conceptual biological goals and objectives for covered species.
*Upcoming topics such as interaction between forest management activities, and covered species, analysis of effects on forest management on covered species, and the role of timber harvest and species habitat modeling in the effects of the analysis process.
The meeting will begin at 1:00 p.m. in room 238 of the Smith Memorial Student Union at Portland State University.
