A Freeze Warning is in effect for early Thursday morning in parts of central Douglas County.
An Urgent Weather Message from the National Weather Service said subfreezing temperatures as low as 30 degrees are possible. Outlying valleys in the area including Camas Valley, Glendale, Drain and Glide are under the warning.
Forecasters said frost and freeze conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
The Warning said residents should take steps to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes, they should be drained or allowed to drip slowly. People with in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
Roseburg is expecting a low of 34 degrees early Thursday.
