The first freeze of fall may be hitting many west side valleys in Oregon this week.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford have put a Freeze Watch into effect from late Wednesday night through Thursday morning. An Urgent Weather Message said after a front moves through the area, temperatures will plummet to near freezing and in some cases below freezing in parts of southern Oregon. This could damage or kill cold-sensitive plants.
Locations include parts of the Umpqua Valley plus many areas in the Rogue and Illinois valleys. This includes the outskirts of Glendale, Drain, Glide and several other communities as well.
Overnight lows in the areas impacted by the Freeze Watch may dip to between 29 and 32 degrees.
