An attic fire damaged a home in the Hucrest neighborhood of Roseburg on Monday night.
Fire Marshal Monte Bryan of the Roseburg Fire Department said firefighters responded to the residence in the 1600 block of Northwest Utah, just east of Kline Street, shortly before 8:00 p.m. Bryan said crews found a two-story residential structure with smoke showing from the second story. Two adults, four children and the family service dog had left the house, prior to firefighters arriving.
Bryan said when firefighters entered the home, they located and extinguished a fire in the attic of the home. They checked the residence for any extension of fire, ventilated the residence, and completed overhaul.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The home which is valued at $200,000 suffered approximately $60,000 in damage.
