October 7, 2019 4:15 p.m.
Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. the City of Sutherlin experienced a sanitary sewer overflow in the 300 block of West Central.
Information from staff said the issue lasted for approximately fifteen minutes. A blow off on a pressure sewer broke and released approximately 100 gallons of raw sewage. After it was stopped, the affected area was cleaned up by the staff.
City Recorder Diane Harris said the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality was contacted as well as anyone that could have been potentially affected.
