The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has revised the schedule for the completion of the environmental impact statement for the Jordan Cove Energy Project.
That project includes the proposed 229-mile pipeline that would go from Klamath County to Coos County where it would end at the also proposed 200-acre liquid natural gas terminal site in Coos Bay.
The FERC release said previously a notice was issued identifying October 11th and January 9th, 2020 as the respective dates for the final EIS and Order issuances. The release said the U.S. Forest Service, who is a cooperating agency in the EIS preparation only recently received critical information from the project proponent that is necessary for it to complete its land and resource management plan amendments. FERC said therefore additional time is required in order to incorporate the new information into the final EIS.
The new schedule calls for the issuance of notice of availability of the final EIS on November 15th. The commission currently anticipates issuing a final order for the project no later than February 13th, 2020.
