A Fairfield Inn by Marriot is planned for Roseburg.
Community Development Director for the City of Roseburg Stuart Cowie told News Radio 1240 KQEN that staff is currently reviewing a site plan application. If approved, the hotel will be constructed off of Northwest Boulder Drive. That’s just south of Northwest Edenbower Boulevard, and just west of where the road passes over Interstate Five.
The site plan review said the project will be a five-story hotel with 94 rooms. The developer is Harish Patel of Boulder5 LLC in Tigard, which already owns the property according to paperwork filed with city officials. The project will cover over 53,400 square feet of space. Patel did not return requests for information from KQEN.
The proposed site has already been mass-graded including the installation of retaining walls and utility stubouts as needed to provide service to the new hotel.
Cowie said the review process for a structure this size typically requires a few re-submittals. He said staff is currently reviewing those re-submittals. He said if all the standards are satisfied the site review approval would be authorized.
