With the recent change in weather conditions, local officials with the Forest Service have officially ended fire season as of midnight Tuesday morning.
Mark Turney of the Umpqua National Forest said with the end of fire season, Industrial Fire Restrictions have been lifted.
Turney said during the last month, the Umpqua National Forest received widespread, moderating conditions enough to drop the fire danger to a low status.
Campfires are already permitted outside of campgrounds. However, people are still encouraged to completely extinguish their campfires before leaving a site. This year firefighters with the Umpqua National Forest responded to and suppressed 66 fires totaling 11.75 acres.
