UCC ANNOUNCES NEW THEATRE DIRECTOR

In KQEN Cultural Spotlight:
Umpqua Community College has announced that Dr. Christina “Chryss” Allaback has joined the faculty in the Performing and Visual Arts department as the Director of Theatre.
Dr, Allaback has an MA in Theatre History and Criticism from Illinois State University and a Ph,D in Theatre Arts from the University of Oregon as well as an MA in Arts Management from the U of O.
Between undergrad and grad school she founded a feminist sketch comedy troupe and an improv comedy troupe in Chicago, where she also attended the Second City Conservatory for improvisational comedy performance and sketch comedy writing. For the last six years, she has been the producing director for a small, grassroots theatre company in Eugene, which does science fiction productions.
The theatre department will hold auditions for War of the Worlds Radio Play on October 3rd. Parts are available for up to twelve adults. Performances will be October 31st, and November 1st and 2nd. Call 440-4694 for more information.
