The Roseburg VA Health Care System will go smoke-free next Tuesday, October 1st.
A release from the VA said the move is being done to “further its commitment to provide a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, vendors, volunteers, contractors and employees”.
The policy covers all smoking material including but not limited to cigarettes, cigars, pipes and any other combustion of tobacco including but not limited to electronic or e-cigarettes, vape pens, or e-cigars.
Starting Tuesday, smoking will no longer be permitted on any RVAHCS campus. That policy affects employees, patients, visitors, contractors, volunteers and vendors. The release said patrons of the VA are strongly encouraged to leave all smoking materials at home.
RVAHCS offers smoking cessation treatment services for veterans and employees. Contact the Roseburg VA for more information.
