An Oakland man died after a vehicle apparently rolled over him on Saturday afternoon.
Information from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said just past 2:30 p.m. a deputy was called to the 1700 block of Churchill Drive, following a report that a man had been ran over by a vehicle on his property.
When the deputy arrived, medics were placing 34-year old Benjamin Delamotte in an ambulance to be transported to a helicopter at Rice Hill. The report said lifesaving efforts were performed but ultimately the victim was declared deceased prior to lifting off in the helicopter.
An investigation revealed that Delamotte had been using a vehicle to correct a jackknifed trailer which was attached to another vehicle. The report said it appears one of the vehicles became dislodged, leading to the accident.
