MEETING ON ELLIOT STATE FOREST TUESDAY IN PORTLAND

September 19, 2019 4:15 a.m.
The Oregon Department of State Lands will host a public informational meeting next Tuesday September 24th in Portland for discussions surrounding a possible proposal by Oregon State University to establish a research forest on the Elliot State Forest.
The Elliot is in Douglas and Coos counties.
In December of 2018, the State Land Board directed the agency to work collaboratively with OSU’s College of Forestry as it develops a plan for transforming the Elliot into a world-class research forest. The Land Board anticipates hearing the OSU proposal at its regular meeting in December.
Tuesday’s meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the OSU Portland Center in the Meier & Frank Building on Morrison Street.
