COLLEGE TO CONDUCT EMERGENCY DRILL ON UCC CAMPUS

An emergency drill will be held on the campus of Umpqua Community College on Thursday.
A release from the college, said the exercise is being conducted by UCC, Douglas County Fire District No. 2 and representatives from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. During the drill, the school’s Community & Workforce Training Center building will be “set on fire” using smoke machines. The building will be evacuated and the campus Emergency Operations Center will be activated.
The release said nearby residents have been notified of the activities and a large, digital reader board is set up on Umpqua College Road displaying an advisory message.
The drill is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. and end around 12:00 p.m.
