The Forest Service is hiring for temporary or seasonal jobs across the nation.
Mark Turney of the Umpqua National Forest said temporary positions with the agency are a way to gain experience, work outdoors, and get exposure to different careers. Turney said the Forest Service is seeking people from all walks of life, of all abilities, to join the workforce. Applications are available by going to: https://www.usajobs.gov/ between September 16th and September 30th.
Forest Supervisor Alice Carlton said getting a position is a “great opportunity for individuals to get much needed experience in the Forest Service and the Umpqua National Forest”.
Available jobs include technician positions in either archeology, range, forestry or engineering. They also include being a maintenance worker, visitor information assistant, or biological technician.
