POPULAR TRAIL TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE ON TUESDAY

September 9, 2019 3:40 a.m.
Staff with the Umpqua National Forest will temporarily close the Toketee Falls Trail #1495 on Tuesday.
Mark Turney from the Forest Service said staff will make needed repairs and perform maintenance on the popular and well-traveled path.
Turney said the action is needed to repair a landslide which damaged a section of the trail, and to replace and repair fencing and some areas of the overview decking at the falls. The work will take place between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The trail is expected to reopen on Wednesday September 11th.
Those who plan to visit Toketee Falls on Wednesday should call or visit the Toketee Ranger Station at 498-2531. It is open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
