The Garden Valley Road Paving Project is underway.
A contractor for the Douglas County Public Works Department is working between the Roseburg city limits and Brown’s Bridge, where it crosses the North Umpqua River. Work includes grinding out the existing pavement, installing new asphalt and restriping the road.
For the first 2 weeks, crews are working the night shift Sundays through Thursdays from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Construction has started near Brown’s bridge and is heading south. Sections of the southbound lane will be closed as work is taking place. During construction hours, traffic flow is controlled by flaggers and pilot cars.
Motorists are asked to slow down and proceed with caution while in and around the work zone. Expect 15-20 minute delays and seek alternate routes whenever possible.
