FIRE DANGER DROPS TO LOW DUE TO RAIN

September 8, 2019 1:00 p.m.
Fire Danger has dropped to low on lands protected by the Douglas Forest Protective Association due to the recent rain.
Kyle Reed of DFPA said their Public Use Restrictions will remain in effect and all backyard debris burning remains prohibited. During low fire danger, there will not be shut down times on the mowing of dead grass, the use of power saws for non-industrial purposes, the cutting, grinding or welding of metal, or on any other power-driven machinery not specifically mentioned in DFPA’s Public Use Restrictions. Reed said all other restrictions under DFPA’s Public Use Restrictions remain in effect and are unchanged.
On Monday the Industrial Fire Precaution Level will move to IFPL 1 on all DFPA protected land. Under that designation, there are no shutdown times, associated with equipment working on industrial operations. Industrial operators are still required to have fire tools and a water supply at the work site and must complete a fire watch when work is done for the day.
