Thunderstorms moved over the Douglas District on Thursday and crews with the Douglas Forest Protective Association dealt with multiple fires.
Kyle Reed of DFPA said the Kelly Creek Fire was located 7 miles northeast of Glide. That fire burned 1/4 of an acre before crews got a fire line around the fire and were able to mop it up.
The Bullock #1 and Bullock #2 Fire are 7 miles east of Tiller. Crews are working to suppress both fires, which are within about 1/3 of a mile of each other. The larger of the 2 fires is estimated to be 1/2 acre in size.

The Green Mountain Fire, 5 miles southeast of Azalea burned 1/10th of an acre. Crews have completed lines around the fire and mopped it up.
Crews from DFPA, Tiller Rural Fire Department and the Umpqua National Forest responded to a natural cover fire 8 miles northeast of Tiller, near Sam Creek. It burned about 1/2 acre. One structure was threatened by the fire but no damage was reported. A preliminary investigation indicated that the cause of the fire was powerline related.
Reed said DFPA assisted the Southwest District of the Oregon Department of Forestry with 2 fires near the Douglas County and Josephine County line. The Tunnel Road Fire, 2 miles south of Glendale, burned 1/4 of an acre and has been lined and mopped up. Crews are currently working on the Riffle Creek Fire, 11 miles west of Glendale. It is estimated to be 1/10th of an acre.
