The Roseburg Police Department has released statistics from its August focused DUII patrols.
Sergeant Jeff Eichenbusch said the patrols centered on the holiday weekend, thanks to a grant obtained from the Oregon Department of Transportation and Oregon Impact. During August RPD arrested 5 people for suspicion of driving a vehicle while impaired by alcohol, drugs, or a combination of the 2.
Eichenbusch said grants such as this provide the department’s officers with the ability to focus on problems that they wouldn’t necessarily be able to focus on during a normal patrol.
