Saturday is the deadline to nominate someone for the Faces of the Umpqua Valley Project.
Presented by the Umpqua Valley Arts Association, the project will be a photographic exhibition and a book that looks at the community at a moment in time, depicting the pride and skills that make this “a community that is a pleasure to live in”, according to a UVAA release.
The UVAA started collecting portraits at the Summer Arts Festival with the help of News Review photographer Jon Mitchell and local photographer Kevin Eckerman. Portraits will be printed onto banners to be displayed outside the UVAA next January.
UVAA also plans a photographic installation in the Hallie Brown Ford Gallery, also in January. Go to www.uvarts.com and click on the “nominate” link to nominate someone you believe to be deserving of this honor, or to get more information about the Faces of the Umpqua Valley Project.
