A Washington man was cited for failure to perform the duties of a driver and for reckless driving on Sunday afternoon.
A report from the Oregon State Police said just before 12:30 p.m. a trooper was sent to a hit and run crash that reportedly happened on Interstate Five northbound in northern Douglas County. The vehicle that allegedly left the scene was located in Lane County after the victim had spotted it again. The report said the trooper observed damage on the front driver fender of the suspect vehicle that matched the damage on the rear passenger side of the victim’s vehicle. After an investigation, the suspect admitted that he had been driving when the accident took place, according to the report.
The 20-year old driver was released after being cited.
