Staff with the Oregon Department of Transportation will hold an open house Tuesday to provide an update on the Scottsburg Bridge replacement project.
Dan Latham of ODOT said the meeting will be held at the Scottsburg Community Center on Highway 38 and will run from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Latham said that 2 years ago the Oregon Legislature approved legislation that provided approximately $42 million to replace the 90-year old bridge. He said ODOT is now finishing up that design and construction on the new bridge should begin early next year.
As part of the design project, ODOT must document the history of the bridge, the community of Scottsburg and the surrounding region. He said residents that have stories or photos they want to share can bring them to the open house.
ODOT staff will be available to discuss the bridge and provide an update on the project plans.
