SCOTTSBURG BRIDGE PROJECT OPEN HOUSE SET

August 8, 2019 9:40 a.m.
An open house regarding the Scottsburg Bridge replacement project will be held on Tuesday August 20th.
Dan Latham of the Oregon Department of Transportation said the meeting will run from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Scottsburg Community Center on Highway 38.
Latham said 2 years ago, the Oregon Legislature passed HB 2017, which provided approximately $42 million to replace the 90-year-old bridge. Latham said ODOT is now finishing up that design and construction of the new bridge should begin in early 2020.
As part of the design process, ODOT must document the history of the bridge, the community of Scottsburg and the surrounding region. ODOT Project Leader Mark Leedom said the department has already gathered some history from the community, but wants to expand on that. He said residents are welcome to bring any stories or photos they would like to share with their staff historians.
For those unable to attend the open house, all displays will be posted on the project website www.scottsburgbridge.com.
