In regional fire news:
Firefighters assigned to the Little Applegate Complex of fires in the Applegate Valley completed mop-up operations on Monday afternoon with both fires now 100% contained.
Following accurate GPS mapping, the Little Applegate Fire was contained at 6 acres while the Yale West Fire was mapped at just under one acre. An update from the Oregon Department of Forestry Southwest Oregon District said that all crews have since cleared the scene of the fires.
The fires began at around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. More than 160 personnel were sent to the fires within the first 2 hours.
