Educators are invited to register for the 2019 STEAM Summer Institute, coming next week.
A release from Douglas County Partners for Student Success said the institute is a series of professional development workshops geared toward teachers who want to integrate STEAM thinking into their classrooms.
Sessions, presented by the Umpqua Valley STEAM hub and DCPSS will be held August 12th-15th in Wayne Crooch Hall at Umpqua Community College.
Topics will focus on a variety of science, technology, engineering, artistic innovation and math themes. That includes Family STEAM nights, 3D printing, robotics, and much more.
Participants can receive a $75 stipend for each half-day they attend, up to a maximum of $300. Professional development units are also available for each session. Half-day and full-day sessions are offered.
