The Douglas County Museum will offer free admission to all patrons this Tuesday through Saturday during the Douglas County Fair.
The feature exhibit is “The Roseburg Blast” which commemorates Wednesday’s 60th anniversary of one of the deadliest explosions in northwest history. It destroyed many of the buildings within an eight-block area and did heavy damage to structures in the surrounding 30 blocks. 14 people died in the blast and 125 were injured.
The museum is just off of Interstate Five next to the fairgrounds at exit 123. The museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. During the fair, parking is $8 but those riding the bus to the fair can do so for free.
