AIR POLLUTION ADVISORY EXTENDED THROUGH 12:00 P.M. MONDAY

August 5, 2019 4:25 a.m.
An Air Pollution Advisory for parts of southern Douglas County has been extended through 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
A statement from the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality said wildfires burning in the region combined with forecast conditions are causing air quality levels to fluctuate, leading to unhealthy air at times.
Pollutants in the smoke can cause burning eyes, runny nose, and can aggravate heart and lung diseases and other serious health problems as well. Residents should limit outdoor activities and keep children indoors if it is smoky. Those with a heart or lung condition should follow the medical advice of their healthcare provider.
The advisory area includes Glendale, Azalea, Canyonville, Riddle and Tri-City.
