The Milepost 97 Fire, burning south of Canyonville, is 35% contained as of late Thursday night.
An update from the Oregon Department of Forestry said just over 1,480 personnel are working on the fire, including firefighters and support staff. That includes 58 hand crews, 18 helicopters, 43 engines, 26 dozers, and 32 tenders.

At last report the fire was just over 13,000 acres in size but a new acreage total will be released later in the morning.
