EVACUATION LEVELS REDUCED ON MILEPOST 97 FIRE

Due to significant progress that has been made by wildland firefighters assigned to the Milepost 97 Fire, Officials with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and fire managers have reduced some evacuation levels.
Sergeant Brad O’Dell said all residences that were under a Level 2 “Get Set” evacuation have been reduced to a Level 1 “Get Ready” evacuation notice. O’Dell said that includes Barton Road, Azalea Glen Road between milepost 88 and Barton Road, Old Booth Lane, Harrel Lane, Hobbs Lane, Lizzie Lane, Fortune Branch Road on the Azalea-Glen side, Pack Lane, Forrest Road, Realty Road, Quines Creek Road, and Mobley Drive.
O’Dell said all residences on Upper Cow Creek Road starting at Interstate Five milepost 88, east to the base of Galesville Dam are also included.
